Slice The Pie. Make Money Listening to Music!

Today I decided to try out a new money making website just to make a little more extra per month as I always am and although I have heard about Slice the Pie I had never tried the site. The website, which is here allows you to listen to music, 90 second clips at a time and you must write a review of them. I write my reviews while the music is playing and I am always over the character limit before the song ends. I find this site very easy to make some money, and I am no audio expert. I tested the site for 11 minutes today and I managed to make $1.33. This isn't much, but you can do this site in your down time as much as you want and this definitely is much more of a money maker than other sites and apps I have talked about. I usually set goals for myself which each site/app I use to reach each day and I feel like $10 would be reachable on slicethepie in just over an hour. I made an average of 17 cents per song, and this took only 90 seconds. This is the start out pay for everyone I believe and it is already what is the minimum wage in most states, just to listen to music. If your reviews are good, you are able to move up in time and make even more. I plan to work on Slicethepie more to see my results and I will report them here. The minimum payout for Slicethepie is $10, paypable via paypal and I am hopeful to make this amount each day with a little work.

Good luck and happy listening everyone.

Jingit Update -- Debit Card Received!

Yesterday I received the debit card that you are able to order with the rewards app I wrote about earlier this month called Jingit. It came very quickly, and the card looks better than expected. It is a Visa with the Jingit logo on the top left. This is pretty handy for the rewards app since you can simply load the Jingit card as you make money on the site and then use the card as you please. The activation was quick and easy as it should be.

So far my experience with Jingit has been pretty mediocre. I have made around $5 on the site, and so far it has been difficult to make much more money using it. Still, I make a few cents here and there and it may not seem like much but this could add up to around $100 a year, which if spent wisely could turn into much more.

I found a new rewards app that deals with QR codes that I will be writing about soon after my initial tests of it.

Update on Mining -- New Pool / Hardware Updates

I have realized that Triplemining may not be the best site for me when it comes to long term mining simply because of the pay per 24 hour method that they use. They only pay you for the shares you solved in the last 24 hours, which is great, if the block ends in a decent amount of time. However, this current block is approaching 700 hours and at this point if you have a Jalapeno miner like myself all that run time is netting you close to nothing. I have decided the new pool I will be using is called Multipool. They also allow you to mine for other coins that use a similar algorithm as bitcoin and they pay based on how many shares you solved compared to the number of shares total, which is much better. I will update on the type of money that I am able with my miners using Multipool in the near future.

As far as my hardware, all is doing well since I got it. I have 6 ASIC erupters that are constantly going and I also have the BFL jalapeno which runs at a constant 50 Celsius  I have fans on all my equipment that is running to ensure that it stays cool. I am so far satisfied with how quickly it can produce, going over 11 GH/S almost all the time!

Bitcoin ASIC Miners!

About a week ago I decided to invest in a Butterfly Labs ASIC Miner as well as a group of six block eruptors that came as a set. I knew that there was a good chance that I would not gain back my investment but I figured it would still be a cool experience to see what this thing can do. I paid around $700.00 for everything that I got and it came in the mail today. I use Triplemining.com as mentioned in a previous post as my mining pool. Well, 3 hours into the mining I am throughly impressed. The machine has already made me $5.50 worth of bitcoins in just 3 hours. This is 1/2 of what a calculator said it would make in 24 hours so it is well above the pace. I read many articles saying a small miner like this, the Jalapeno, was not worth it anymore because of the investment not being able to be returned. Even with the difficulty going up I believe this mining setup will still be able to make back what I have in in less than a month. If you have been discouraged about investing in a small miner please do invest! Using triplemining seems to be good and is outdoing any calculations I had seen before. If you are wondering how to get started mining I have a previous post that briefly explains it and I am willing to answer questions too!

Happy Mining everyone!

I will keep up to date how this miner is doing as well as how much income bitcoin mining can really make with a small investment.

Jingit -- Similar to Shopkick

Two days ago I discovered a new app that allows you to gain money by watching videos, scanning barcodes and getting cash back by scanning a receipt. It is called Jingit. At first it appears that there is not much to be made on this site, but I felt like giving it a try anyway because any money is more than I had. At first you can watch videos, which they stopped me at four of them or $.75. This only took 3-5 minutes so I felt it was worth my time.

The next way that it allows you to earn money is by scanning barcodes, exactly like shopkick. Jingit, however, does not have nearly the amount as shopkick and they are not as available  I had four on Jingit yesterday that I scanned while I was doing shopkick. This netted me $2.00 which was great for the time but I am not for sure when they will be back.

You can also get money if you are interested in the items on the app and want cash back. Personally, the only one on there I would buy is the yogurt so I can tell this section is not as much for me, but it may be for some. They offer over $1 per most items cash back.

Jingit appears that it will only allow you to earn $10 a week without any referral  This is okay to me, since an extra $40 a month just for this would fill up my gas tank once, but it appears the more you refer the more potential you have as with most sites.

Lastly, Jingit offers a debit card that you may sign up for once you hit $3.00 earned. I am $.25 away from this, but I plan to order one once I am able so that I can use it for gas / groceries if this app does indeed allow me to make up to $40 a month.

I will keep up to date how this app goes, and of course post new sites I find. If you have any experience with Jingit feel free to comment below!

GUIMiner - Bitcoin - Triplemining

As many of you may know, Bitcoin a digital currency has lately increased in value by a ton. Being over $1,000 a coin it is well worth the time to start mining and this is very simple if you have a high powered GPU. Laptops are not recommended for this since they will not make much money. I currently mine with a 5770, and plan to mine with a few other machines once I get the funds to order them.

Digital Wallet:

First, you need a bitcoin wallet to maintain your currency.
There is a few to choose from on this website

Pool / Mining Community:

Next, you will want to join a pool of miners. This in my opinion is the easiest way to get into mining and it is straightforward. I currently use Triplemining. Using that link will allow you to sign up, if interested and then you will be set up with a pool. There are also many other mining pools, none of which I have had experience with, but you can find some more here Others

Software:

Lastly, you will want to set up the miner itself. I recommend GUIMiner, this is the most advanced graphics wise, but is not always the most efficient. I have been making around 170 mhash /s using the 5770 with GUIMiner. GUIMiner can be found using this link

Set up is very simple. On triplemining.com once you have an account, go to the workers tab and create a worker on the top right. Just put a computer name in, or something, and a simple password that is NOT the same as your profile information. Once you have done this, open GUIMiner, select triplemining under the server and then put in this worker information you just created under username and password. Select your graphics card you're using, then press start mining. From this point you can see your progress on triplemining and it will tell you how you are doing.

If there are any questions on this, feel free to comment and I will try to help. With bitcoin being as much as it is now, getting into this while you can still can may be a great idea.

Microworkers - Work From Home

Microworkers.com is another site that is similar to mturk in a sense that you do small tasks for not a lot of money but this money can add up quickly. While I would definitely not suggest microworkers as a site that will get you a lot of money, it is always nice to get a few dollars extra. I have earned about $50 on the site since starting to use it in May 2013 and this is hardly working on it at all.
Microworkers will pay you via paypal and you must have at least $10 made in order to get this money. While this is not a lot, it still has been taking me several weeks to get this $10. I would recommend doing this site daily to earn an okay amount, but there is only about 200 tasks available for me at any given time.
The earnings that can be made on microworkers is similar to what I make on swagbucks.

Smartphone Users! Shopkick!

This is a post that will be strictly for those people that have access to a smartphone, whether that be Android or iPhone. There is an app available in both app stores that is called Shopkick. I have been using this app for 4 months now, so I feel I finally am able to spread the word about it and how it can benefit you today! If you get your groceries at Walmart, Target this app will really come in handy for you.

How it works!

Shopkick is quite simple. All you do is scan products that they show you on the app and you get "kicks". Each product is usually worth a different amount of kicks. The kicks can be exchanged for gift cards to those stores you're shopping at or other stores of your choosing such as Starbucks. The way they are calculated is $2 for every 500 kicks you obtain. This may seem like a lot, but I usually am able to get this much each trip to Target, and this only takes me about 10 minutes of scanning items that I am already near while I am shopping! There are several items worth 100 kicks alone, and you even get kicks for walking into the store.

Redeeming & Using the Money

The way you get money from this is that it allows you to trade in the amount of kicks that you have for giftcards. Being able to get $2 almost every single time I go to Target is very helpful on my grocery bill. I find myself making nearly $20 a month just using this app. While this may not be a lot, combining this with couponing, I save over 50% almost every single grocery trip compared to when I did not shopkick or use coupons! This is incredible savings over a years time and I have not changed the food or beverages that I buy.

There are some times when there will be products that you are not able to find on the app, but do not panic, the products do not go away and they actually become worth more kicks the next time that you come to the store. The cashiers at Target and Starbucks that I have used the giftcards at are always willing to be patient with you. I have used multiple giftcards at once before and they gladly accept this, one time one of the cashiers even did shopkick herself! Go out and try Shopkick for yourself today if you have not already!

Area With Mturk Hits

A few of my readers that are new to Amazon Mechanical Turk may simply wonder where do you find hits that you can do? Well if you are new and starting out, I would actually recommend reddit. They have a subforum that is called hitsworthturkingfor which can be found here. This is where I started in the beginning and from there I worked my way to forums. This subreddit has many hits that are mainly surveys, and they post the time. The great thing is that almost anyone that is new can do them and they are a way to get your feet off the ground without suffering and doing hits that seem like they will last forever. I myself have gotten away from surveys a bit because I find most to be underpaid, but this subreddit is wonderful for everyone starting out. You do not have to have an account to view the hits that are posted.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Updated Mturk Earnings

For the longest time I thought about giving up on this blog because I did not think it was worth my while. As of late I have seen that there are a lot of people that are trying to make money online and they do not realize the true potential of Mechanical Turk. I have been on the site 13 months now and I have some astounding results. Any one can achieve this as well. Here is my updated report. Work has been very slow for me the last week, so that explains the low numbers.

Swagbucks -- Passive Income

Swagbucks.com offers you with the ability to add their search as a default to your browser and you can easily get around 30 points a day for this. Just this alone will add up every month. There are other way to make money with Swagbucks, doing surveys, watching shows, etc, but by adding this search function you can easily get a $5 paypal or amazon card each month. There is a system on Swagbucks where you can earn points for coupons(very useful for saving money) and also where you can sign people up under you!

Mechanical Turk Earning and Numbers

Amazon Earnings since the last week of September 2012 when I started. This is my dashboard on Mechanical Turk.

Starting out

Many people have asked me in the past how I manage to make money online and support myself so I now am making a blog about it. I will be sharing some of my tips about where to work, how much I earn, and show you how easy it is for you to do the same. My main source of income is Amazon's Mechanical Turk system which brings me approximately $2,000 every month alone. Granted I spend a great deal of time on the site, but I make it worth my while.
